I strongly encourage everyone in Grant and Marshall County to vote for Matt Elliott for Circuit Judge this Tuesday, March 5. Matt's Marshall County roots run deep -- he grew up in Douglas, married a girl from Grant, lives in Guntersville, and works at a law firm in Arab. There is no also doubt that Matt is qualified. He graduated at the top of his class at the University of Alabama School of Law, earned a prestigious clerkship with a Federal Judge, handled complex litigation at a regional firm in Huntsville, and now practices at a respected local firm in Arab.
Matt's accomplishments are impressive, but his character should earn your vote. When I first met Matt, he was a volunteer assistant to the youth pastor at a church in Guntersville. He spent the next decade as an EMT/ Paramedic, mostly with Marshall Medical Centers EMS, before putting himself through college. Along the way, he married one of my other favorite people, Jordan Crowder Elliott. They have had three beautiful children together while excelling in their legal careers.
It's no secret that Matt's long-standing goal has been a judgeship, but it's not about personal ambition. He would probably do the work as an anonymous, unpaid volunteer, and that's the type of person you should elect as your Circuit Judge.
