FYI - if you live in a city or village with more than 7000 people - DON'T LET YOUR GOATS WANDER OFF YOUR PROPERTY "The owner of any cattle, horse, mule, sheep, swine, or goat shall not allow the animal to run at large in any public place in any city or village having a population of 7,000 or more inhabitants. A law enforcement officer of or animal control officer for such a city or village may seize, and keep until disposed of as provided under this act, any such animal so found running at large (ANIMALS RUNNING AT LARGE

As summer is upon us, many of you will be heading to the horse track. Just remember that it is a misdemeanor in Michigan to "introduces an object or foreign substance into the nostrils or windpipe of a horse" that is working out or racing for the purpose of helping their performance. If you can find 'Breathe Right' nostril strips big enough, it appears these would be allowed unless you jam them up the horses nose.

Attention boaters and jet skiers, now that summer is here, please remember that drunk driving on a boat is a misdemeanor and the penalties are increased if you are drunk boating with a person under age 16 on board.

REAR VIEW MIRROR DI**LE - DANGLES. Do you have items dangling from your rear view mirror? Depending on the item's size, you could be pulled over and given a ticket. Michigan law states that a a person shall not operate a motor vehicle with "an object that obstructs the vision of the driver of the vehicle, except as authorized by law". You may ask, "what obstructs the vision"? Unfortunately, there are no definitions of "obstructs the vision". Does a crystal globe? Probably not. However, a court has ruled an air freshener hanging below the mirror DOES obstruct the vision. If you have to hang something, make sure it is small and/or transparent. Better yet, don't hang anything from the mirror.
