Attorney Garrett TenHave-Chapman of Solomon Law Firm argued before the Michigan Supreme Court on 11/8/2023 to protect injured workers’ rights. Michigan law says that employers cannot terminate a worker for asserting their right to worker’s compensation benefits, and that workers have 3 years to sue an employer which does so. With increasing frequency, employers are sneaking in language in initial hiring documents that limits the time to sue to 6 months. Attorney TenHave-Chapman urged the Supreme Court to prevent this language from taking effect, and guarantee that workers have the full 3 years to sue. We expect a decision in early 2024.
