I’m currently in the hospital and will be staying overnight so the doctors can run a few tests and make sure everything is okay. I’m feeling alright, just taking the time I need to rest and take care of my health.

There has been a lot of misinformation online about “overtime tax credits,” so we want to clarify.

A new deduction for qualified overtime compensation was introduced for the 2025 tax year. This is not a refundable credit and it does not apply to all overtime pay.

Only the portion of overtime pay required under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) may qualify, and income limits apply. Eligibility depends on employment classification, filing status, and total income.

During my mother’s memorial service, our family released balloons in her honor. Watching them rise into the sky was a peaceful reminder of the love she gave us and the love we’ll always carry with us.
