The purpose of the Law Enforcement Explorer Program is to educate and involve the youth in police operations, interest them in law enforcement careers, and provide a positive interaction with law enforcement. Join us in recognizing the Grand Prairie Police Explorer Post 086 for competing in the highly competitive Space City Explorer Competition against 30 teams from all over the state of Texas.

GPPD brought home 6 trophies:

1st place - Burglary in Progress
2nd place - Officer Down
2nd place - Traffic Accident Investigation
3rd place - Unknown 911 (Person with a Weapon)
2nd place - Bike Course (Individual trophy won by Explorer Valdez)

2nd place - Overall!

I am very proud of all of our explorers as we represented Grand Prairie IMPRESSIVELY WELL!!! Each post competed in 8 different scenarios including: Active Shooter, Domestic Violence, Burglary, Gang Activity, Unknown 911, Check Welfare(APOWW), Misdemeanor Traffic Stop, and DWI. I am EXCITED to share with y'all that our two posts brought home 6 First Place Trophies!!!!

086 won First Place in Active Shooter and Domestic Violence!!

342 won First Place in Burglary, Gang Activity, and Check Welfare (APOWW) as well as First Place over the whole competition!!!

I am sooo proud of all the hard work these students have put in and Grand Prairie is once again rising to the top in these competitions proving to be the teams to beat!!!

Thank you for your continued support of the Explorer Program and we can't wait for our next competition!!!!
