The road is actually named for Chief Aptakisic: a respected leader of thePotawatomi tribe. Known as Chief Half Day: he played a vital role in keeping peace and saving local settlers during the Black Hawk War. A simple charting error by an early mapmaker is the only reason we don't use his full name today. It is these unique historical roots that make our "identifiable neighborhoods" such a premier destination to call home.
