Child support can be a confusing part of the divorce or separation process, especially when it comes to parenting time. Having equal parenting time does not necessarily mean that neither parent will pay child support. And not seeing your child does not eliminate your responsibility to provide financial support. 🤔

The focus is ultimately on the child and helping protect their well-being as the family transitions into a new situation. Have questions about child support and how it may apply to your family? Contact the Law Offices of Vescio & Seifert, P.C. today to better understand your rights and responsibilities.

Before filing for divorce, preparation can make a difference. Gathering financial records, documenting bank accounts and important assets, and understanding what you’re asking for in your initial petition can help you enter the process better informed and prepared. If domestic violence is a concern, having a safety plan and seeking appropriate support should also be a priority.

Every divorce is different. LOVS Law can help you understand what steps to consider before you file.

“How is property divided in a divorce?” It’s a common question, and the answer isn’t always as simple as 50/50. In Arizona, there’s an important difference between an equal division and an equitable division. Looking at the full picture, including community assets, debts, and their values, can help determine what a fair division may look like.

Understanding everything that’s on the table is an important first step. If you have questions about property division during an Arizona divorce, contact the Law Offices of Vescio & Seifert to discuss your situation.

Do you really need an attorney for your divorce? In some straightforward cases with no children, significant assets, or debts, handling the process yourself may be an option. Parenting plans, for example, need to be specific enough to avoid confusion and future disputes.

One of the most common questions we hear is, "How much does a divorce cost?" The answer often depends on one key factor: the level of conflict. The more issues that require litigation, negotiation, or court involvement, the more expensive the process can become. That's why it's important to weigh the cost of fighting over an issue against the value of the outcome. Sometimes, reaching a practical resolution is the better financial decision.

Every family law case is unique. At LOVS Law, we help clients make informed decisions that protect both their legal interests and their financial future.

LOVS is sad to announce that our office dog, Maxx, crossed over the Rainbow Bridge last night.

Originally from a shelter, he was a sweet and playful little guy. He particularly loved showing off his haircut after being groomed and would run and wiggle around. If you picked him up, he made his eyes comically large.

In later years, as he lost his sight and developed other health problems, he became a quiet but calming presence for our team, our clients, and our guests. He now insisted on being held at ALL times, prompting our staff to buy him a sling that he could be carried around in. His favorite activity became sitting outside in the sun on our front grassy area.

Thank you, Maxx, for all of the love. Run free with our original office dog, Scruffy. You are loved and missed.

Realistically, how long will the divorce process take? In Arizona, the shortest possible divorce is 60 days from the date the petition is filed and served, but that's only when both parties agree on every issue. If there are disputes over parenting, property, finances, or other matters, the process can take significantly longer. Every case is different, and the timeline often depends on the level of conflict and how quickly issues can be resolved.

If you're considering divorce, our attorneys here at LOVS Law can help you understand what to expect and guide you through the process every step of the way.
