Three things a lot of people don’t realize they’re owed in California:

→ Your final paycheck is due immediately if you’re fired, not next pay cycle.
→ Unused vacation is wages. It can’t expire, and it’s owed when you leave.
→ “At-will” doesn’t mean “for any reason.” It can’t be an illegal reason.

Knowing where you stand isn’t about looking for a fight. It’s about not being taken advantage of.
