For anyone concerned: Your current Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payments will continue without interruption. Your checks are funded by permanent appropriations and will be paid on time.

However, Social Security Administration offices are operating with reduced staff, meaning we expect some delays in:
• Processing new disability applications.
• Scheduling and holding non-critical disability hearings.
• Non-essential services like benefit verifications.

SSA Request for Reconsideration waiting times are still unacceptably long for people applying for Social Security Disability and SSI. I have seen little to no improvement in these times since 2022. If this is impacting you contact your congressman.
