We are proud to share that Ryan Mahoney has been presented with the 2025 Friend of Labor Award by the Greater Madison County Federation of Labor AFL-CIO. This award recognizes his many years of community service and dedicated work for union workers and their families by the Central Labor Council, which represents over 30,000 members of 80+ unions, lodges and other affiliated organizations. The Friend of Labor award is a way to publicly acknowledge and thank individuals who have played a vital role in supporting workers' rights and the labor movement. This is the highest award given to a non-union member.
The Greater Madison County Federation of Labor’s mission is to advocate for social and economic justice and to vanquish oppression and make our communities better for all people—regardless of race, color, gender, religion, age, sexual orientation, or ethnic or national origin. The organization works tirelessly to support the unions and laborers of Madison County and Southern Illinois to improve workplaces and strengthen the voice of all working families.
