Hartford County is the #1 hottest housing market in the United States in 2026.

Both Zillow and Realtor.com ranked it first. Nationally.

What that means in plain English:
→ ~787 homes sold per month here
→ Median price around $360K
→ Inventory is the lowest it's been in 23 years
→ Demand isn't slowing down

The towns getting the most attention right now: West Hartford, Simsbury, Glastonbury, Avon, Farmington, Southington. Insurance and healthcare professionals, young families, NYC transplants — that's most of who I'm working with.

If you're sitting in Connecticut wondering whether now is the right time to buy or whether to wait for the market to cool — the data isn't suggesting it's about to cool. The honest read is: this is the market we're in. Strategy matters more than timing.

Here's something I tell every buyer I work with upfront: We are going to get told No.

Probably more than once.

Right now in Connecticut, 53% of homes are selling above list price. Statewide median days to pending is 11. Hartford County is the #1 hottest housing market in the country in 2026 according to both Zillow and Realtor.com. That math means buyers are competing — and not every offer wins.

I tell people this on day one because I would rather you know what we're walking into than be blindsided when it happens. Getting told No on a house you loved is painful. It's also part of the process right now. The buyer who lands in the right house is usually the one who got told No on two or three before it.

The Yes that comes after a No is so much sweeter. I mean that.

Before I was a Realtor, I was a pastry chef.

Cheney Tech for culinary arts. Then New England Culinary Institute in Vermont. An internship at Gleneagles Hotel in Scotland — one of the most prestigious resort hotels in the world. Then I was the Pastry chef at Quail Valley Golf & River Club in Vero Beach.

I was good at it. And I knew it was time to build something different.

I chose real estate for two reasons: I wanted to help people through a decision that actually matters in their life, and I wanted to build something real for myself. Nine years in, that hasn't changed.

What carried over from the kitchen is the standard. Precision. Zero margin for error. High-pressure performance. Demanding Clientele ;) Real estate isn't that different — the stakes are just bigger. We're not talking about cake anymore. We're talking about where you're going to live.

Hartford County. April 2026. Here’s where things actually stand.
Median sale price for a single-family home: $411,500. That’s up 7% from a year ago.
Homes are going for 102% of list price — meaning buyers aren’t just meeting asking price, they’re beating it.
There are 477 active listings in Greater Hartford right now. That is not a lot. For context, a balanced market would have several times that number.
When the right house hits? It goes pending in about 5 days.
This is not a market where you show up and take your time. If you’re thinking about buying in Hartford County this year — the prep work happens before you find the house, not after.
