Here’s why - If your young adult child is suddenly incapacitated, you aren’t allowed access to them in the hospital without their verbal consent. Because they’re adults! If they can’t give that consent… well, you may have to go to court to get guardianship over them. Gulp. This can all be avoided with some simple documents.
