This project was developed through a collaboration between The University of Toledo College of Law and The Toledo Women's Bar Association to discover and preserve the stories of women lawyers in the Toledo area.

Following Governor DeWine's press conference yesterday Bowland Law Office has posted this guidance in our lobby area. We are committed to the health and safety of our clients and will be following these recommendations.

Bowland Law Office is committed to the health and safety of our clients. As such, we will be taking precautions in order to decrease the risks associated with this virus.

Bowland Law Office will not be accepting walk-in appointments until further notice. If you have any questions, would like to schedule appointments, or pick-up/drop off documents, please call our office at (419)-855-7718. You may also drop off documents through our mail slot located next to our front door. However, our office doors will be locked.

Further, we are attempting to handle many of your needs via phone, email, and fax. If you need to contact us, our information is:

VALUING HISTORY:

As we begin to do some updates and renovations around the office, we were able to find this lost treasure, one of George Bowland’s original signs when he opened this office back in 1949.

We think it is important to appreciate appreciate history. George was a native of Genoa, and lived here his whole life. He served his community in many ways during his life, participating in different organizations, and offering his legal services to many of the areas townships and villages. We here at Bowland Law Office are exited to find a place to pay tribute to George and his legacy

We know he would be excited that his daughter, Denise, and granddaughter Sarah, continue to serve the community he cared so deeply about.

3rd GENERATION:

In May 2019, Sarah K. Boldt was admitted to practice law in the state of Ohio.

Following her swearing in, Sarah joined her mother, Denise Bowland, at the office which her grandfather George Bowland started in the 1940’s.

Sarah is excited to begin her diverse legal practice, and continue on the legacy her grandfather started, and her mother has continued, providing quality legal services in her small town home.

OUR HISTORY:

Founded in 1949 by George Bowland, Bowland Law Office has been providing legal services to the Northwest Ohio area for over 70 years. Mr. Bowland began this law practice in his hometown of Genoa, Ohio, serving his neighbors. He further served his community as the solicitor of both the Village of Genoa and Clay Township. Mr. Bowland believed it was important to provide these services to the community he cared so deeply for.

Upon passing the Bar in 1985, Denise Bowland joined her father as an attorney at Bowland Law Office. Being able to learn from her father and gain a respect for this work were valuable lessons learned early on. Since then, Ms. Bowland has focused her practice on estate administration and the general practice of law as a solo practitioner.

In the same building on Main Street in Genoa, Bowland Law Office continues to offer its services to the same Northwest Ohio community that has been there since the beginning.
