American Airlines flight 383 lawsuit alleges that the stage two turbine disk on the GE engine in the Boeing 767 aircraft was manufactured from corrupted, defective material and was defectively designed and fractured from fatigue and stress, causing this engine failure and fire. As against American, the plaintiff passengers also allege that it was negligent in supervising and directing the evacuation of the aircraft, causing the passengers additional injuries.

The lawsuit filed names the aircraft manufacturer, Boeing, the engine manufacturer, GE, and American as defendants and seeks damages for the passengers’ physical and psychological injuries.
