A recent conversation with a client selling their home:

Me: I’d like to talk about some issues raised in the inspection.

Seller: How did it go?

Me: Not so great.

Seller: What did they say was wrong?

Me: You have owned your home since 1998. You said that you have always kept it up to code with work you have done, right?

Seller: Yes, of course!

Me: Well, the inspector spoke with your 5 year old who said your floors are made of lava. That is definitely not up to code!

PSA: Dolly Parton, a national treasure, created a program years ago called Imagination Library. The program’s aim is to provide monthly free books to all children from birth through age five.

Previously, Illinois was not a covered area. Under the new state budget, Illinois is covered!

This is an incredible program.

If you have a child under five years old, make sure to sign up!

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is a book gifting program that mails free books to children from birth until they begin school in participating areas.

Did you know that Saint Charles was originally named Charleston? It was not until the late 1830s that someone discovered there already was a Charleston, IL further downstate that was slightly older.

One of the only lawyers in town, S.S. Jones, suggested changing the name to Saint Charles, and that was that.
