Ashtabula County real estate owners, did you know that in the past 3 years, on average about 83% of the Board of Revision Complaints in which taxpayers contested the County Auditor's 100% appraised value of their real estate were resolved in the land owners favor? All of the real estate in the County has been appraised and some vaules have gone up as much as 20%. You can request a hearing before the Ashtabula County Board of Revision to contest the new appraised value of your real estate but, your Complaint must be filed before March 31, 2021 to be heard.

An FYI out there to everyone forced to use the USPS for various business tranasactions...I mailed, via Priority 2-day mail, a contract to a client in the Pittsburgh, PA area from my post office in Geneva, Ohio on December 18th, it took the envelope 10 days to go from Geneva to Akron, Ohio then another day to get to the PIttsburgh, PA distribution Center. I am hoping my poor client actually receives the envelope to day or tomorrow. I am wondering why I paid the USPS $7.75 for guaranteed 2-day delivery...GRRRR!

Some of my colleagues should remember Nina Wright who was an Attorney located in Painesville for many years...her youngest son, Evan Wright became a journalist, author and screen writer. I just listened to his book American Desperado which is about Jon Roberts, the most notorious drug smuggler working for the Medellin Cartel and Pablo Escobar. It is a fascinating book based on hours of interviews Evan conducted with Roberts whose roots are from the Italian mob of the 60's.
