New York Chief Administrative Judge Lawrence Marks issued an order Sunday that defined “essential” court matters and said all other court filings would not be accepted until further notice.

COVID-19 RESPONSE –
Clients, colleagues and friends:
We are all experiencing a disruption of our day to day lives. While our physical offices remain closed at this time, we continue to work remotely with access to our digital files, emails and telephones.

Although the part of the Court system that handles matrimonial and family law cases is substantially closed except for emergencies, our efforts to work with each of our clients continues, and we remain available to advise our clients, even in this time of uncertainty. In many cases, we will need to be prepared to take action upon the court system resuming regular operations, and we should not wait until then to prepare.

Although I cannot imagine that any of us planned for this contingency, we have been prepared to work remotely, and remain available to assist and provide advice.
