Gaithersburg’s 88th Annual Labor Day Parade returns Monday, September 7 at 10am in Olde Towne, but there’s an important change to know before you go: the parade has a NEW ROUTE this year.
The parade will begin on Russell Avenue, continue along East Diamond Avenue and conclude on Melvin Street in Olde Towne. The new route is designed to improve flow, visibility and convenience for participants.
The parade will feature high school marching bands, dance groups, costumed characters, antique cars, fire engines, equestrian units, community organizations and more. This year’s Grand Marshal is Gaithersburg’s 2026 Distinguished Resident John Sanchez, with El Zol 107.9 morning co-hosts Patricia De Lima & Chepe serving as emcees.
Food, activities and additional festivities will also take place at the Gaithersburg Community Museum parking lot and Olde Towne Plaza along East Diamond Avenue from 10am to 12:30pm.
Again, remember the NEW PARADE ROUTE: Russell Avenue → East Diamond Avenue → Melvin Street.
