Caregiving often comes with emotional, financial, and legal responsibilities. 💙 Planning ahead can help provide caregivers with greater clarity and reduce unnecessary stress during difficult moments.

Documents such as powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and long-term care plans help families make important decisions with confidence while ensuring loved ones are properly supported.

At Elder Law of Georgia, we help families prepare for the future through thoughtful legal planning.

What happens if you do not have a guardian plan in place for your children?

Without a legally documented plan, Georgia courts will decide who is responsible for their care. This decision may not reflect your wishes and can lead to uncertainty or even family disputes during an already difficult time.

Creating a guardian plan allows you to name trusted individuals, outline your values, and provide clear direction for your children’s future. Taking this step now can help ensure stability and protection when it matters most.

This Memorial Day, we honor and remember those who gave their lives in service to our country. 🇺🇸 Their sacrifice is the foundation of the freedoms we enjoy today.

We also recognize the families who carry their legacy forward and remain grateful for the courage and dedication of those who have served.

And, we encourage anyone and everyone to participate in the Mental Health Awareness Walk on Wednesday, May 20 at 8:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church on Green Street.

We were honored to serve as a lunch sponsor for the American Parkinson Disease Association - Georgia Chapter and be part of such an impactful day supporting those affected by Parkinson’s disease. 💙

From practical swallowing tips and voice strategies shared by SLP, Keri Barrientos, to balance and fall prevention insights from PT, Janet Medlin, and an informative discussion on non-motor symptoms by Dr. Julie Kurek, each presentation provided meaningful tools and education for patients, caregivers, and families.

At Elder Law of Georgia, we are proud to support organizations like APDA and remain committed to serving our community with compassion, guidance, and care. Thank you for allowing us to be part of such an important event!

Join us in congratulating Dan, our first Associate Attorney on passing the Georgia Bar! 🎉

A native of Tampa, Florida, Dan earned his Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of South Florida before going on to receive his Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law. During law school, he gained invaluable experience through internships with the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida, the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit Court, and the State Attorney’s Office in Clearwater—building a strong foundation in legal research, advocacy, and courtroom procedure.

Dan went on to serve as a prosecutor with the State Attorney’s Office in Clearwater from 2018 to 2022, where he handled both misdemeanor and felony cases, gaining extensive courtroom and litigation experience. He later practiced at a Tampa-based law firm, representing clients in complex first-party property insurance disputes.

In 2025, Dan relocated to Gainesville, Georgia, with his family and joined Elder Law of Georgia, P.C., where he has already made a significant impact on both our team and the clients he serves, providing clear guidance and compassionate support through estate planning and probate matters.

Already a licensed attorney in Florida since 2018, Dan’s recent success in passing the Georgia Bar is an exciting milestone. His dedication to serving families during some of life’s most difficult moments continues to make a meaningful impact.

Congratulations, Dan we’re so proud to have you on our team! 👏
