The University of Florida Journal of Law & Public Policy is an interdisciplinary, non-partisan organization devoted to the study, commentary and analysis of domestic legal and social issues. Each issue contains both anal

ytical and thought-provoking articles written by lawyers, judges, scholars, and public officials. The Journal is published three times a year by the University of Florida Levin College of Law. The Journal is designed to serve the needs of professionals, researchers, instructors, and students in the academic fields of law and public policy, journalism and mass communications, business and social science, and other related disciplines, as well as law libraries, policy analysts, and public officials.

Congratulations to Amanda Niemann, our Executive Research Editor (ERE), for being chosen as JLPP’s 2023 Outstanding Member.

The Outstanding Member Award is bestowed upon a JLPP member who goes above and beyond in fulfilling their duties and responsibilities. Here are a few of the reasons why Amanda earned this award:

- Amanda suggested extra footnotes in every article prior to General Editor (GE) edits and in addition to her round of edits, which no ERE has previously done;

- Amanda vigorously ensured that GEs were uploading and submitting their assignments to the shared server;

- She exhibited eagerness to improve and grow in her position;

- She maintained a positive attitude, despite the rigor of the ERE position;

- She performed all edits in a timely manner and completed all JLPP membership requirements;

- She displayed a meticulous attention to detail in her edits; and

- She consistently communicated with the Executive Managing Editor and Editor in Chief regarding the editing cycle

Amanda’s name will be engraved in the Outstanding Member plaque located in the JLPP office. Please join us in celebrating her hard work this year!

UF JLPP is ecstatic to formally announce its 2023 Symposium: Navigating the Post-Dobbs Future, in partnership with the Center for Governmental Responsibility at UF Law and sponsored by UF Law American Constitution Society.

The symposium will take place on March 2, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 3:40 p.m. in MLAC 106, with a virtual attendance option available as well.

Attendees must register at http://bit.ly/JLPP-Dobbs whether attending in person or virtually.

We look forward to seeing everyone in attendance.
