- At least 10 years older than the child (unless relative or stepparent of the child)

Today, I had the privilege of guiding a sweet client through mediation and helping them reach a fair and peaceful divorce settlement. After months of uncertainty, they now have a clear path forward — without the stress, cost, or emotional toll of a courtroom battle.

Today I joined other local attorneys, Judges, courthouse staff, law enforcement, and veterans for a reading of the Declaration of Independence at the Hall County Courthouse. The Declaration isn't something most of us review with any frequency unless you're involved in the school system, and it was a moving experience to see so many folks involved in our judicial system present for the reading and reminder of the reason for the upcoming 4th of July holiday weekend.

We fought hard at trial to secure the final order our client needed to protect the best interests of her kids. The opposing party wasn't happy with the final order and filed an appeal. Today the Appellate Court issued their ruling and affirmed the trial court's Final Order! We are thrilled with this outcome! ✅✅✅

Spent the day at the Jackson County Courthouse for a settlement conference. Unfortunately, we didn't end up resolving the case. These moments are tough—for clients, for attorneys, for everyone involved.

Not every effort leads to immediate agreement, but showing up, standing firm, and advocating with integrity still matters. We try our best to help clients reach compromises when in their interests, but also know when it's time to stand firm. Sometimes the road to justice takes longer than we hope, but we keep walking it together.
