Jonathon was so excited to have Payton shadow him so she could learn what we do on a “regular” day at work. (Plot twist—there is no such thing as a “regular” day in family law).

We are so excited to share the story from our next Service Spotlight: Payton Crawford!

"I recently job shadowed Mr. Johnathan Mendoza from Fuquay Family Law. Fuquay Family Law offers legal representation to all families, and helps in divorce proceedings, child support, adoptions, child custody, separations, division of property, alimony, and surrogacy.

We met up early in the morning at the courthouse before his trials, and he gave me a tour of what the inside of a courthouse contained and where everything was. I watched him during court and divorce trials, each lawyer was called upon and asked to present their case, and if their client was present they stepped forward as well. After the trials were done, we sat on the floor inside the Harnett County Courthouse and he answered all my questions. It was such a fun experience to be able to see how the job I'm interested in works, learn about the details, and watch it in person. "

Today, we honor Juneteenth, the day in 1865 when the last enslaved people in Texas learned they were free, over two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth reminds us of the importance of justice, equity, and the enduring strength of African-American families and communities. At Fuquay-Varina Family Law, we reflect on this history as we continue to advocate for equality and dignity for every family we serve. Happy Juneteenth everyone!

Please take a moment to congratulate our Paralegal extraordinaire, Jonathon Mendoza, on passing the NC Bar Exam! We are so happy for Jonathon and look forward to him joining Fuquay-Varina Family Law as our first Associate Attorney (once he receives his NC State Bar License)! He will continue as a Paralegal with us until he is fully licensed. Way to go, Jonathon, and we see big things for you!
