Virginia passed several new laws affecting notaries that will go into effect later this year. Intended to combat the growing prevalence of real estate fraud and the financial exploitation of senior citizens, the laws impose more stringent requirements for obtaining and maintaining a notary commission. Among other changes, the new laws introduce mandatory education and testing requirements, journal retention obligations, and additional safeguards related to notary seals and identity verification.

On May 3, we had the opportunity to give back to the community that has supported us since we opened our doors nearly five (!!) years ago. We were proud to serve as the photography sponsor of The Great Train Race, one of the largest timed kids’ races on the East Coast.

We spent the morning playing games, handing out plenty of prizes and candy, and celebrating the hard work and determination of all the young runners. It was fun, and we’re grateful to have been part of it.

We also want to give a special shoutout to Brody Kavina, the son of our legal assistant, Georgia Kavina, who ran a 6:32.8 mile and won 2nd place in his age group of 56 runners. So proud of Brody for this extraordinary accomplishment! 👏🏻
