Summary:
The legal assistant provides high-level administrative support to the law firm by conducting research, handling information requests, interacting with client, and performing clerical functions such as preparing correspondence, receiving visitors, arranging conference calls, and scheduling meetings for attorneys.

• Greet visitors in a gracious and welcoming manner
• Answer phone calls and direct calls to appropriate parties or take messages
• Interface with clients, claims adjusters, court clerks and/or court reporters
• Draft legal documents, reports and standard letters
• Create and maintain electronic filing systems
• Handle client billing and invoice reconciliation
• Maintain and review the calendar, meet deadlines, document actions, input information into the database and draft documents related to cases
• Assist with meeting preparation
• Prepare, track and submit Partner expenses for reimbursement
• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned
Required Skills, Knowledge and Education:
• 1-3 years’ administrative experience is preferred
• High School diploma or GED required; Associate’s or bachelor’s degree is preferred
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail, ability to work independently and strong organizational skills
• Proficient with all technology and an expert user of word processing and spreadsheet programs
• Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
• Bilingual with the ability to speak Spanish fluently is a plus
Work Environment and Schedule:
This is a full-time position with a standard schedule of Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM. This job operates in a professional office environment and no overnight travel is expected for the role. There may be occasional local day travel required. Paid holidays and vacation.
