Congratulations to Hartzog & Silva attorneys Ed Silva and Amanda L. Bradley, for being named to Mid-South Super Lawyers for 2025!

Ed was named to the Top 100 Lawyers in Tennessee, the Top 50 2025 Nashville Super Lawyers List, as well as being named to the Super Lawyers list for family law. Amanda was honored to be named once again to the Rising Stars list for the practice area of family law.

The Nashville Bar Foundation Leadership Forum class of 2025 was honored at today’s NBA Law Day Luncheon. Lawyers from Nashville gather every year on this day to celebrate the rule of law and our oath to follow the Constitutions of the United States and State of Tennessee.

Today was our last day of programming for the Nashville bar foundation leadership forum. We spent the day in the historic Davidson County courthouse and heard from several different panels of judges who were so gracious with their time.

This was my first time getting to see the portrait of the late Judge Richard Dinkins. He was a Judge when I clerked at the Court Of Appeals and was so kind and funny. I also snapped a picture of the portrait of a young judge Clement, who I clerked for. This is his portrait hanging in his old courtroom after he left the probate bench.

The NBFLF has been invaluable for making connections within the Nashville legal community. I highly recommend it for young lawyers in their early years of practice.

Yesterday I spent the day in Nashville with my colleagues in the Nashville Bar Foundation leadership class learning about how being a lawyer and being a public servant intersects. We toured the state capitol. Many important, impressive people gave up their time to be with us, and we had unique opportunities to have meaningful conversations with these leaders. Public service is always something I’ve felt compelled to do, and being in private practice as a lawyer has its own challenges, so I’m appreciative of this program to give me insights on how I might better accomplish both.

On December 19, the Oral History Committee of the Lawyers' Association for Women (LAW) Marion Griffin Chapter presented an original documentary film featuring the life and impactful work of U.S. 6th Circuit Court of Appeals Senior Judge Martha "Cissy" Daughtrey, a founder of LAW. The film was followed by a panel discussion featuring members of the legal community who worked with Daughtrey over the years and who spoke about her impact on gender equity in the legal profession. The group capped off the night with its annual holiday celebration.

I was honored to co-chair the Oral History project this year alongside Carrie Daughtrey, and it was rewarding to see all our hard work pay off and be able to leave a lasting legacy to LAW with this film.

I had court this morning in the new Maury County Judicial Center and got a personal tour by my friend Jerry Bridenbaugh afterwards. I loved the old courthouse in the center of Columbia’s Square but this new facility is well thought out and great for the citizens of Maury County.
