It is always nice when our good pal Jeff stops in to NKY for a visit! He dropped off an Achmed figure for the Vent Haven Museum in Ft Mitchell and has a show at NKU tonight, but stopped in to the public house to snack on one of Josè's relatives first! For those that don't know Brook is President of Vent Haven and the Brooking Family has been instrumental in not only its creation, but survival and growth as the only Vent museum in the world! Go see Jeffs show and make an appointment to tour the museum! We are blessed to have such great friends and clients.

Using AI to help with your legal defense or legal matter? A recent ruling in US v. Heppner has determined that those AI prompts and questions are NOT attorney/client privilege and subject to discovery by the US in the criminal matter. This will be much easier to apply to civil cases. So as clients or attorneys, be mindful of your AI usage and discuss it with your counsel IN PERSON before you do something that may hurt your case! If you enjoy great coffee and want to support local businesses and owners, and you're deciding b/w the new Dunkin Donuts in Ft. Wright and Reality Tuesday Cafe 3 blocks north, choose Reality Tuesday Cafe. It's a no brainer, but some of you have fallen into the "chain" coffee trap. RT has better pastries and better coffee. they use fair trade coffee from Seven Hills Roasters here in Cincy, so you support two great local businesses in one swoop! Dunkin sources outside the area and grinds those beans long before you ever get a chance to see them. Drink local coffee, support local families.

For our (and your) corporate clients and small businesses: Starting today, Kentucky employees may designate a third party – including union representatives in non-union facilities – to accompany safety inspectors during walkaround inspections. State safety officials adopted an emergency regulation yesterday amending Kentucky’s “walkaround” rule so that it runs parallel to the new federal OSHA rule that took effect earlier this year.

Two important changes to be aware of: 1)Employee representatives are no longer required to be your employees. Instead, employees may designate a third party as their representative, and 2) Third-party employee representatives may extend beyond industrial hygienists or safety engineers.

KY Employers keep in mind that even under the new rule, KOSH can only inspect worksites with the employer’s consent, unless it has a warrant. Therefore, you are still entitled to control how KOSH accesses company property and the areas covered during an inspection, unless the agency has a warrant.

Memorial Day is always a special day for Brooking and Halloran. Both our dads were Navy men. All of my uncles served in WWII or Korea. My Uncle Lyle served in Vietnam. It used to be called Decoration Day, because the families would decorate the graves of the war dead with flags and flowers to remember them. If you live free in the best country in the world today, remember to say a prayer for all the dead who made it possible.

We work on injury cases all the time here at the office and while this is in Ireland, you can be assured that on every large case in America, the insurance company is tracking your social media, maybe following you in person and taking pics and video, and they will do dirty, sneaky and underhanded (albeit usually legal) things to get evidence you're fibbing/malingering. Post nothing. Respond to nothing. And sure as hell don't enter Xmas tree throwing contests and then claim you're utterly debilitated. I have a brochure I'd be happy to send to anyone who wants it detailing the steps you should follow after an accident. Email me at [email protected] to get a copy! -Brian

Kamila Grabska, 36, told doctors she suffered from constant back and neck pains due to a car accident but won a tree-throwing contest days later.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all our friends and clients! Travel safely if you are on the road or in the sky. Eat the extra dessert. Drink the extra glass of nog. Hug your loved ones one extra time before you leave. Tell Aunt Brenda that the homemade sweater she made you is amazing and make sure to post pics so we can all give her props, even if the arms aren't the same length and it feels like wearing burlap! :) Don't drink and drive and lord willing, we will see you after the holidays! - Brian and Brook
