The Supreme Court's latest emergency order restricts jury trials and in-person proceedings until April 1, 2021. Tarrant County has only had three jury trials since the Covid pandemic began. In October 2020, Chris Lankford tried the first full jury trial (and only one to date) in Tarrant County, Texas.

Another inmate has died in the Tarrant County jail of non-Covid related issues. We understand how difficult incarceration is and work hard to avoid or minimize any jail sentences.

An inmate in custody died Dec. 7 in Fort Worth, becoming the 13th person to have died this year while detained by the county.
