Here is a snippet of the news story of two of the mothers. I represented one of the mothers in this video. I have spoken with both mothers. The lengths this guy… I can’t call him a father…went to deny paternity so many times is absolutely CRAZY!

I feel like this story really confirms that by helping and advocating for families and children…. I really am doing the Lord’s work!

Every single day, I am amazed that I get to wake up and say, “I GET TO BE A LAWYER!” ⚖️💙

I genuinely cannot think of another profession that offers quite as many golden opportunities as the practice of law!

Whenever I mentor first-year law students (1Ls), I tell them, “That law degree and license are like holding a winning lottery ticket!” The doors that can open, the opportunities that can arise, and the lives you can impact with this profession are truly limitless.

But one thing I NEVER could have imagined is that after 16 years as a paralegal and more than five years as an attorney, ONE CASE could become such a pivotal moment in my legal career.

A couple of years ago, I took a chance on a case. I ended up representing two mothers against the same father in what I initially believed would be a fairly routine legal matter.

WHEW! WAS I WRONG! 😳

What unfolded was anything BUT routine. The twists, turns, revelations, and unbelievable circumstances surrounding this case have been unlike anything I could have imagined in my legal career.

And now, the Dallas Morning News has published the story as a FIVE-PART investigative series!

To see a case that I worked on become the subject of this level of journalism is something I never anticipated. It’s a reminder that you truly never know which case, which client, or which opportunity might become a defining moment in your career.

I will be mentioned in the upcoming articles, but for now, I wanted to share Part One of this incredible story.

All I can say is… “Sometimes, truth really IS stranger than fiction!”

And who knows? One day, you might just be watching this story unfold as a Netflix documentary! 🎬🍿

My son was a year old when I remember the first plane hitting the first building. By the time I made it to my friend’s house, the second plane had hit the next building.

And that’s when something was triggered inside of me. I thought to myself…. As long as I am alive, I will do anything to protect my babies, my family, and my friends from ever having to suffer from another terrorist attack here in America. I would rather bomb their cities and fight on their soil than to ever have my loved ones suffer through another 9/11.

My birthday the following year, I took an oath to protect this country from all enemies… foreign AND domestic. I have seen war torn countries during my time of service. I would never want to see that environment in my beloved country. I will honor that oath until the day I die.

America is not perfect. It has lots of flaws and flawed people running it… but there is no place I would rather live. I would rather stay here and create the change I want to see. I pray we all do our part to help with that change.

May we never forget. 🇺🇸❤️🤍💙

Happy Fourth of July! 🇺🇸❤️🤍💙

Today, America celebrates 250 years of independence.

As I reflect on what this day means, I recognize that our nation’s story is not a perfect one. America’s history has been marked by war, slavery, injustice, division, civil war, violence, and heartbreaking tragedy. Those chapters should never be ignored, and they should continue to challenge us to become better.

Yet, despite our flaws, I am still proud to call this country home.

Having traveled to countries around the world, I’ve been reminded that many of the things we take for granted every day—clean drinking water, reliable electricity, access to education, the ability to speak freely, and opportunities to pursue our dreams—are still luxuries for millions of people.

As a proud Army veteran who served during a time of war, I have seen firsthand the devastation that armed conflict leaves behind. War doesn’t just destroy buildings—it destroys families, communities, childhoods, and generations. It leaves scars that often never heal.

That experience has made me deeply grateful that my children have never had to wake up to bombs falling outside their window or wonder if they would survive another day. I pray they never do.

I will always support the men and women who answer the call to serve, while also praying for peace. My greatest hope is that the wars we fight are never brought to our own neighborhoods, where our children, parents, friends, and loved ones live.

America has work to do. We are far from perfect. But I believe loving your country doesn’t require pretending it has never made mistakes. Sometimes the greatest form of patriotism is believing your country can continue to grow, heal, and become better.

So today, I celebrate our freedom, honor those who sacrificed for it, remember those who never made it home, and remain hopeful that future generations will inherit an America that is more just, more compassionate, and more united than the one we know today.

Happy Independence Day, America.

🎉✨ Happy 50th Birthday to me ✨🎉

Today I celebrate my Golden Jubilee — 50 years of life, lessons, victories, setbacks, growth, faith, and resilience.

Life has not been perfect. I have faced challenges that stretched me, seasons that humbled me, heartbreak that changed me, and moments when I wasn’t sure how I would make it through. But by the grace of God, I did.

I’m grateful for every lesson, every tear, every closed door, every answered prayer, and every opportunity to begin again. Each chapter — even the difficult ones — helped shape the woman I am today.

When life gets difficult, remember that if I can make it through the worst storms of life, so can you. Stay the course and keep the faith. This moment will surely pass.

As a Soldier in the U.S. Army for almost 24 years…. It’s still difficult to say “Happy” Memorial Day.

Being deployed to Iraq, I saw firsthand the casualties that occur during war. Nevertheless, we remember, we honor, and we respect those who paid the ultimate sacrifice so that we could live free because of the brave.

Thank you to those who served AND paid dearly for OUR freedoms. May we never forget.
