☀️ Spring Break is here, and the Walters Law Office team wants you to come home safe. 🤠

Whether you're headed to South Padre Island, the Hill Country, or anywhere in between — a little preparation can make all the difference. As a Fort Worth law firm that handles car accidents and personal injury cases, we see firsthand what happens when fun trips go wrong.

Here are 6 tips to keep you and your family protected this Spring Break:
✅ Never drink & drive — rideshares are everywhere, use them
✅ Stay hydrated — Texas heat can hit 90°F even in March
✅ Watch for rip currents — swim near lifeguards at coastal beaches
✅ Stay with your group — share your itinerary with someone you trust
✅ Lock your car & secure your valuables — don't make yourself a target
✅ Wear sunscreen — you will burn, no exceptions ☀️

If you or a loved one is injured in an accident this Spring Break, we're here to help. Walters Law Office represents injury victims across Texas — and your consultation is always free.

🗳️ Know Your Rights as an Employee on Election Day — Walter’s Law Office 🗳️

Election Day is one of the most important days for our democracy — and if you’re working that day, it’s important to know your rights as an employee.

👉 Time Off to Vote
Under the Texas Election Code, employers must allow employees the time they need to go vote on Election Day if your work schedule doesn’t already give you at least two uninterrupted hours to vote while the polls are open (polls in Texas are generally open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.).

👉 Paid Leave for Voting
If you do need to take time off during work hours to vote because you don’t have two consecutive hours outside your schedule to do so, that time must be paid — your employer cannot penalize you by reducing your pay or benefits for taking time to vote.

👉 Employer Responsibilities
Employers cannot:
✔️ Refuse to allow you time off to vote when eligible.
✔ Penalize or retaliate against you for voting or for the way you voted.
Penalties for unlawful retaliation can be severe, including criminal penalties under Texas law.

👉 Plan Ahead
If possible, take advantage of early voting — it gives greater flexibility and may help you avoid needing time off on Election Day itself.

🗳️ Bottom Line:
You have a legal right to cast your ballot — and your employer has a legal obligation to let you do it without penalty. If you have questions or believe your rights have been violated, we’re here to help.
