****BEWARE****A license number for an individual or company to perform work in Florida is not the same as a business number. Registering the name of a business provides only the registration of a business name not the person or a business. Since Hurricane Charlie, the state of Florida DBPR has significantly raised the number of categories of work to property that require a license to do business in Florida. Licensing hopefully demonstrates a level of competence. The state has done this because so many people were taken advantage of after the hurricane. As a practicing attorney one of the most common complaints is from someone whose home or all of their insurance funds were stolen by an unlicensed person or business. Recovering from this is often impossible. Often these people are not collectible. Make sure to verify their license with the DBPR. They have a website just for this. You can do this on www.my Florida license.com.

A long story, but then aren’t a lot of legal matters? The first day we met the wife was crying because she did not want to be forced out of her home. Today she and her husband are happily free from that fear. Mission accomplished! I arrived to find these beautiful orchids and a heartfelt thank you note. They made my day!
