Jay and I moved here to Florida full time, 25 years ago. We were snowbirds for 20 years before that...so Florida was pretty much in our future. Our first home was Boardwalk Caper, Fort Myers Beach, and we were from Avon, Indiana so it was a real change for us, but once our metabolisms adjusted, it was the best move we ever made...we were so happy that we finally made it a full time thing!
We moved two more times, finally settling in our beautiful little forever home in the community of Heritage Cove...a little further inland by a mile or so, but what a great place to be. We worked, played, boated...so many things, so much fun, so much life to live. Losing Jay was not part of the plan...and for now, a little bit of the joy of my home has diminished.
But moving forward...a little grayer, a lot wiser, a bit worn at the edges, I still so love where I live. The people, the area, our friends, our home, bottom line...in spite of everything it is and has been a truly wonderful life and life is good, I know that. I miss him so much and every single day is touched with the little things that remind you of the loving, kind, generous person he was...but I will find my new normal...eventually!
In the meantime, to all of you who have been part of our lives, then and now, to all of those who helped, reached out, made the pain a little easier...thank you so much:
To Tom, Janet, Larry, Karrie, Connie, Adrienne, Vickilou, Ann, Tami, Jeff, Steve, Tonya, Robbinn, Joe, Mario, Kathy, Cindy, Terri and the Legion for helping put his Celebration of Life together; to everyone who came and paid their respects and to roast and toast him; to Brenda, Carol and Ann for helping with Daisy we are both greatful; to Karrie, Ann, Sandy and Tonya for helping with work and all things real estate, so needed; to Todd and Tami for helping me with all the necessary paperwork that boggles your mind, you keep me sane; to my neighbors who are so very supportive and so many more...it's impossible to name everyone, but each of you have made a very hard time a little easier.
You are all so very wonderful, my heart is broken but so full of love for all your kindnesses. God bless you and know you are all in my prayers as well.
Love and Hugsssssss ~
