"I walked away from the life I was expected to lead, just to chase a song.” This is Kris Kristofferson’s story — born to a decorated soldier, a Rhodes Scholar, a man whose future seemed mapped out. But Kris turned his back on that secure future, gambling everything for a shot at Nashville. His choice cost him the love of his parents and left him to pick up the pieces of a broken family. Yet, from that suffering came some of the most raw and honest songs ever written: Help Me Make It Through the Night, Sunday Mornin’ Comin’ Down, Me and Bobby McGee. Every word, every note, etched from a life that chose truth over comfort.
