Our Story
SKS Legal Group, P.A. was founded in 2018 by its shareholders and cousins, Robert C. Streit and Jordan C. Kay. Combined Robert and Jordan have over twenty years of experience in representing individuals and businesses of all sizes in litigation, disputes, and transactions. SKS Legal Group’s practice focuses on meeting the needs of clients in complex business litigation and disputes, construction law, negotiation and drafting of business agreements, employment and labor law litigation, and general civil litigation matters in state and federal courts.
From the firm’s offices in Ft. Lauderdale and Miami, Robert and Jordan provide clients throughout the state of Florida, New York, and New Jersey with sensible, innovative, and effective legal representation.
Before creating SKS Legal Group, P.A., Robert C. Streit began his legal career in the state and federal courts of New Jersey and New York, where he gained civil trial experience in broad array of practices areas including, premises liability, products liability, automobile liability, workers compensation, real estate, construction law, personal injury and public entity defense. After moving to Florida in 2008, Robert practiced with two prominent Florida law firms handling a wide range of general civil litigation matters, including commercial and business disputes, employment and labor law, property and general liability claims, contractual and tort claims, insurance coverage disputes, and defense of catastrophic injury claims.
A native of New Jersey, Robert graduated from the University of Florida in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration. He went on to earn a Juris Doctorate degree from Seton Hall School of Law in 2004. Robert is an active member of the Florida Bar, New York and New Jersey State Bar Associations, as well as the Broward and Palm Beach County Bar Associations. He is also a Board Member of the Herbert & Edythe Kay Chapter of the National Parkinson's Foundation.
Jordan C. Kay was born and raised in Miami, Florida. The first decade of Jordan’s career was spent at a reputable, mid-sized construction litigation firm in Miami at which Jordan gained significant experience in all facets of construction law. As a Board Certified Specialized in Construction Law, Jordan’s primary practice is construction litigation, with a focus on architect and engineer professional liability defense and contractor defense of defect and delay claims. He also represents design professionals and contractors in payment claims against their clients, including lien foreclosure actions. He has significant experience with complex litigation matters involving large numbers of parties, voluminous project records, and multi-million dollar damages. Jordan’s experience includes construction claims related to every size project from single family homes to condos, hotels, airports, court houses, restaurants and hospitals. He also litigates personal injury and wrongful death claims for his clients, particularly those related to construction projects.
Jordan earned his Juris Doctorate degree from The Florida State University College of Law in 2008. Jordan is an active member of the Florida Bar, as well as the Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach County Bar Associations. He is also a Board Member of the Herbert & Edythe Kay Chapter of the National Parkinson's Foundation.
