SKS LEGAL GROUP, a growing boutique law firm with offices in Coral Gables and Ft. Lauderdale, is looking to hire an Associate Litigation Attorney for its Coral Gables office. SKS represents both plaintiffs and defendants in construction cases, as well as commercial, condominium and real estate litigation/arbitration matters, and also serves as general counsel providing day-to-day legal consulting and contract services to numerous construction-industry clients, condominium associations and commercial businesses, primarily in South Florida.

Compensation is on a salary basis commensurate with experience, skill and production. The sky is the limit for a motivated attorney at SKS because the firm promotes growth from within by paying commissions on a percentage basis to attorneys that generate new clients for the firm. SKS is looking for an attorney seeking a long-term position and not a candidate who jumps from job to job.

In comparison to what you would typically expect of any larger firm in the Miami area, the position offered is more flexible in terms of schedule, vacation, dress code, billable hour requirement, etc. Long hours and weekend work is not required.

The firm seeks a candidate meeting the following criteria:

1) candidates must be licensed to practice law in the State of Florida;

2) candidates should have 1-7 years of experience - in the fields of construction litigation, commercial litigation, business litigation, condominium/HOA law, insurance defense, or other civil litigation;

3) candidates must be capable of, and willing to, attend hearings, take depositions, draft motions, conduct research, draft contracts, communicate with clients, manage discovery, handle administrative functions incidental to litigation matters such as electronically filing pleadings, scheduling, calendaring and similar;

4) candidates should be organized, prepared, responsive, efficient and motivated.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year

Combined Robert and Jordan have over twenty years of experience in representing individuals and businesses of all sizes in litigation, disputes, and transactions. Jordan C. Kay was born and raised in Miami, Florida. The first decade of Jordan’s career was spent at a reputable, mid-sized construction litigation firm in Miami at which Jordan gained significant experience in all facets of construction law. As a Board Certified Specialized in Construction Law, Jordan’s primary practice is construction litigation, with a focus on architect and engineer professional liability defense and contractor defense of defect and delay claims. He also represents design professionals and contractors in payment claims against their clients, including lien foreclosure actions. He has significant experience with complex litigation matters involving large numbers of parties, voluminous project records, and multi-million dollar damages. Jordan’s experience includes construction claims related to every size project from single family homes to condos, hotels, airports, court houses, restaurants and hospitals. He also litigates personal injury and wrongful death claims for his clients, particularly those related to construction projects.

Jordan earned his Juris Doctorate degree from The Florida State University College of Law in 2008. Jordan is an active member of the Florida Bar, as well as the Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach County Bar Associations. He is also a Board Member of the Herbert & Edythe Kay Chapter of the National Parkinson's Foundation.
