On November 27, 2025, USCIS (U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services) announced that — at the direction of Donald J. Trump — they’d begin a “full scale, rigorous re-examination of every Green Card for every alien from every ‘country of concern’.”
📣 What this could mean for green-card holders and immigrants
🔹️No guarantee of stability: Even previously granted permanent residency could be reconsidered under new security standards.
🔹️Potential delays or complications: Renewals, travel, or verification processes might face delays while re-review is ongoing.
🔹️Increased uncertainty and stress: Applicants and holders might feel vulnerable or insecure, especially if from one of the targeted countries.
🔹️Need for documentation and preparedness: It may become more important than ever to have strong documentation, legal backing, and awareness of one’s rights as a resident under re-evaluation.
