🚨TAX UPDATE 🚨

The minimum age for a childless worker to claim the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) for 2022 tax returns 25 years old with a maximum age of 65 years old. The The maximum credit for childless workers is $560 for the 2022 tax year. The maximum credit amount for workers with one child is up to $3,733, for workers with two children $6,164 and up to $6,935 for workers with three or more children.

For 2022 the earned income requirements to receive the maximum credit also increased to $10,980 if you have one child, $15,410, if you have two or more children, and $7,320 if you have no children. This credit will phase-out as earned income escalates above each threshold.

The look back rule to 2019 tax year earned income, no longer applies for this credit!

🚨TAX UPDATE 🚨

The Child Tax Credit (CTC) returns back to pre-pandemic amount of $2,000 per qualified child for the 2022 tax year. The previous the credit amounts of $3,000 for children 6 to 17 years of age and $3,600 for children 5 years old and younger for the 2021 tax year is longer available. Children who are 17 years old don't qualify for the credit this year, because the former age limit (16 years old) returns. The credit is partially refundable (up to $1,500 per qualifying child), and you must have earned income of at least $2,500.

Advance payments of the credit in 2022 will not return.
