Got a call this morning to do a power of attorney. That's not unusual. Come to the hospice center. Okay, I've been there a few times.
But when you walk in and the person signing is 25 years old it hits a little bit different. I did the signing, tried to bring a little bit of light into that room but also knew it was okay to be filled with the sad and the dark that was there.
Today after the signing, I sat in my car and I just let the feelings come. I can choose to let this world harden me or I can choose to take a moment and let the hard of the world roll over me, crash and embrace it even though it hurts.
Life right now is so hard. Sometimes it's hard to breathe. It's definitely hard to buy groceries and it's definitely hard to have conversations with certain people. Sometimes it's okay to not be okay. For whatever reason that is my day today and I'm okay with that. I would rather feel through a hardened world than let the world turn me hard. I went home and hugged my 20-something year old and I realized that I don't have the answers. But I have today and I could give a hug.
