PSA: I had a tree company call me while they were at one of my listings today. They said the owner had ordered a tree removed. I responded within minutes, because that's what I do with my listings, I'm there in minutes. I contacted the owner, as well as neighbors, and no such order was put in. It wasn't by fault of the tree company, but there's some sort of scam going on.

The company showed me a text they received from a number that didn't accept calls nor texts, wanting a tree removed, pretending to be the owner.

The company showed up expecting to perform, but no one had ordered the tree removed. Not even SCE, which I made a call to to verify. The company graciously backed off..

But it still stands, that it's a strange scam. It could be that the tree company works off of a referral system that they've paid into, similar to Realtors. They pay a certain amount into a system, for referrals.

Keep an eye out for this type of activity. Keep an eye on your neighbor's properties as well, especially ones that are part-time.

For those that are concerned with the lack of trash pickups from burrtec across our mountain currently: They are still picking up the same tonnage of refuse that we all have, It's just not quite on the regular schedule due to the state of emergency. No credits will be given unfortunately, historically, due to this fact. This will not change as much as we've all tried to make that happen throughout the years.

As I counsel all of my clients including real estate sales and property management, be prepared for this in many different situations including fire or inclement situations.

Rinse all your containers out, to not attract wildlife if you absolutely have to put it outside, and prepare it for recycling. If you have food that's needing to be disposed of, freeze it until trash day and plan accordingly.

With this practice, my family and I can go weeks without a trash pickup with only one can service. Any recyclables that you can rinse out, you can bag up and put in a secure place away from wildlife and concern.

I didn't think I would have to repost this so soon, but here it is.

Highways 330, 38 are closed to incoming traffic. 18 is closed to traffic aside from Crestline and Arrowhead. Big Bear is currently under evacuation warnings as well, do not attempt to visit the mountains at this time. Leave room for first responders and residents, please.
