Schenck Price represented Peapack Senior Living, Inc. in the development and financing for Copperwood Senior Living in Peapack, New Jersey. This very exciting project involves the adaptive reuse and redevelopment of three existing former office buildings and campus into a 115-bed assisted living and memory care senior living facility. First class amenities are expected to include an indoor pool, movie theatre, golf simulator and tennis/pickleball courts. This project’s location creates opportunities for real connections to the Gladstone Peapack Main Street businesses and will be part of a larger senior living campus anticipated to also include an independent living community, an extended-stay hotel, age-restricted affordable housing and senior multi-family housing.
Partners John Ursin and Jennifer Golub and Counsel Noah Shier served as counsel to the company and worked closely with B.C. Ziegler and Company in connection with the issuance of $84,705,000 in tax exempt bond financing from the Public Finance Authority in Wisconsin. Partner Joe Roselle handled construction contracts and Counsel Joseph Oliver worked on the real estate issues. Schenck Price Managing Partner John Ursin commented “that the firm was pleased to represent the developer and their partners on this important, transformative project. It was a substantial and complex transaction that also involved NJDOH licensing and nonprofit tax structuring. We were very excited to get this over the finish line and it will be gratifying to see construction start. We look forward to seeing the end product, which will have major benefits to the community.”
