This year’s theme, 25 Years On. Still Needed, is a reminder of both how far we have come and how much work remains.

We remember the lives lost to overdose. We stand with the families, friends and communities who carry those losses. We honor those in recovery. And we recognize the professionals across Michigan who work every day to prevent overdose, reduce harm, provide treatment and support recovery.

Overdose is preventable. Compassion matters. Evidence-based care saves lives. And every person deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.

A few weeks ago, Tracey and Raed Sahouri made an extraordinary $20,000 donation to Partners 4 Recovery in honor of the 5th Annual ZQS Run/Walk for Recovery.
As we recognize Overdose Awareness Day, we honor the memory of their beloved son Zach, who tragically lost his life to an overdose. Since then, Tracey and Raed have dedicated their lives to raising awareness, removing stigma, and making a lasting impact in our community.
