Just a friendly reminder with the first snow. South Dakota's move over law has two parts for when you see a vehicle with the amber lights on. If you are on a 4+ lane, move over. If you are on a regular highway or can't, slow down at least 20 mph below the speed limit (or 5 mph if it's a 20mph zone or less). Too many people getting hit lately.

Did you know August is National Make-A-Will month? Yes, really. In the past some of our ads have included some light-hearted jokes asking about whether you had a relative or in-law who shouldn't raise your child, but in all seriousness, having an estate plan is important. If you have a child, don't make a court guess who would be your choice to raise him or her in the unfortunate event of your untimely death. Whether you have few assets to distribute or a large estate, those assets are the fruits of your labor and they should be handled in the way that YOU see fit. We're here to help.

It often pays to get professional legal advice. A small legal fee for a simple will could have saved the families in this case tens of thousands of dollars (or more). To make matters a little worse, it does not look like the court's ruling reflected what the decedent actually desired.
