I am grateful that our nation remembers and recognizes our heroes!! This is one of the beautiful things about us!!
Memorial Day was never just another day to us, never just a long weekend. Nathan was adamant that our children knew the meaning of the day and the sacrifices of his brothers in arms and many men and women before us had made. He was a great father to our children and a great teacher to them as well.
I’m overwhelmed with my feed on Memorial Day, as I increase my widow friends each year - it is continually filled with photos and tributes to our brave and selfless men, & the beautiful families they left behind. As painful as it is to scroll, knowing these women and their babies personally and knowing their grief, struggles and heartache first hand. It is a privilege to get to know these men through their families, to know them, their bravery, their sacrifice - knowing many of them were just like Nathan!
I am a grateful American! I am thankful for my husbands serve and his sacrifice, one I know he would have given willingly! Thank you for taking the time to remember, honor and recognize the sacrifices of so many who lived and died for the lives that we are able to live today!
