Message from attorney Tony Pirani to clients, potential clients, courts, and colleagues:

As you all know, I unfortunately contracted a severe and life-threatening lung infection back in June and have been struggling to recover virtually ever since. Each time it would seem I was getting better, it would just knock me down all over again, and it has been a very difficult and frustrating road back to normal for me, to say the least. That said, however, after multiple hospital admissions, including in the ICU, and in continuing consultation with my medical treatment team, both pulmonary and infectious disease, I am very happy to report that, while I am still weeks if not months away from full recovery and a return to baseline functionality, I have now finally, at long last, begun to see and experience significant and sustained improvement. As a result, I now anticipate being able to return to work next Tuesday, October 15th, following the Monday holiday. My sincerest apologies again to everyone for both the inconvenience and my unavailability during this unexpected and extraordinarily difficult medical absence, but I will be working tirelessly upon my return to respond as quickly as I can to all missed messages and calls. In the meantime, as always, if you are in need of immediate legal assistance, please call our main office number at (479) 249-8009, and thank you all again for your continuing patience and understanding. 🙏

Sincerely,

Tony Pirani, Esq.

Message from attorney Tony Pirani to clients, potential clients, courts, and colleagues:

As many or most of you already know, I have been battling a severe and life-threatening illness for the past several months, and I unfortunately continue to suffer from respiratory failure with hypoxia. I have also now begun to experience atelectasis (partial lung collapse), and I regrettably remain unable to return to the office or to regular functions at present. I am trying very hard, in consultation with my medical treatment team, to regain function and to get back to work as fast as possible, but I still do not currently know when I will be medically able to actually do so or when exactly that will be. I do, however, sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, and I very much appreciate your continued patience and understanding during this unexpected and extraordinarily difficult medical absence. If you are in need of immediate legal assistance, please call (479) 249-8009, and I will be working to reply to missed emails and calls more direcdtly as quickly as I am able to do so. Thank you. 🙏

Sincerely,

Tony Pirani, Esq.

After 982 days incarcerated for a crime he did not commit, and having spent his 19th, 20th, and 21st birthdays behind bars in the Benton County Jail, yesterday, Elijah Andazola finally regained his freedom! Just as we told him and his family over 2 years ago we believed we would, our managing attorney Tony Pirani personally walked him out of that jail to be reunited with his family, on the only day, as his mother would say, that commands us to action by its very name. And we did indeed march forth from that sad place, the type of facility to which we hope and have faith that Elijah will never have to return.

Getting to be a part of his story, and being able to help facilitate his release and a beautiful family reunion, has been an honor and a privilege for our firm, and we are grateful to the entire defense team for working so hard for so long on this uniquely difficult case to achieve this incredible result. Many thanks to Kim Weber, Suzi Barnes, Suzanne Grice, Randy Osburn, Kristen Lassiter, and Chasity Hi for everything you’ve done to help save this young man. Many thanks also to both the prosecuting attorney and the Judge for being willing and able to see and consider that being “charged” with a certain crime does not necessarily always mean “guilty as.” We appreciate you.

Our hearts and our thoughts will, of course, continue to be with Officer Apple’s family as well as Elijah’s, and we have conveyed our deepest condolences to them for their tragic loss. But Elijah Andazola is not the person responsible for causing that terrible loss, and we believe it is equally and vitally important for the world to know that Elijah is not now, and never has been, a killer. From day one, he has been innocent of any type of homicide. Period. He was simply a troubled kid in the wrong place at the wrong time, who fatefully asked the absolute wrong person for a ride that day.

Thankfully, justice ultimately prevailed, and yesterday, Elijah Andazola finally received his long-awaited vindication, having now been completely exonerated of any responsibility for the heinous crime with which he was originally charged. His release from custody and this well-deserved and hard-earned second chance at life were both long overdue, and we could not be more excited. We here at Pirani Law have a tremendous amount of faith and hope for Elijah and his family moving forward, and today, our hearts are definitely full. ❤️
