What made you choose to work in the Plaintiff's Bar? On 1/21/08, my Mom was rear-ended by an 18-wheeler. As a result, she was paralyzed from her neck down. The choice to work in the Plaintiff's Bar was easy for me because I get to help people the same way the Plaintiff's attorney helped my mom.

Introducing your 2025-2026 ATLA NLN President James Armstrong! Law Office of James R. Armstrong, III

James grew up in the Arkansas River Valley in the small town of Paris. He moved to Fayetteville in 2012 to attend the University of Arkansas. He promptly fell in love with Northwest Arkansas and never left. James’s passion for the law grew out of personal experience. When James was 14 years old, his mother was paralyzed in a car accident. James experienced first-hand the difference a personal injury attorney can make in a person’s life and how important it is to have an attorney on your side who genuinely cares about you and your family. James is married to his best friend, Megan, who is also a local attorney. When James is not helping Arkansans, James enjoys spending time with Megan and their three dogs, floating the Buffalo River, and watching live music.

I had the opportunity to meet Justice Hudson, Judge Kearney, Judge Weaver, and Judge Harris last Thursday. After all four jurists told us about their respective paths to the bench (and patiently answered our many questions), it was clear Arkansas is lucky to have outstanding Justices and judges.
