When funding fell through for an author visit at ConnectiKids Summer Camp, 63 Hartford kids were at risk of missing out on receiving their own books.

Author Teresa Pelham reached out to Claggett, Sykes & Garza to see if we could help turn that disappointment into something special. đź“š

We were happy to step in and purchase personalized, signed copies of Teresa’s The Probably Untrue History of Javier Lopez for every camper.

We also had an incredible morning at ConnectiKids meeting the kids, hearing Teresa share her story and, most importantly, watching 63 young readers leave with books of their own.

On Monday, August 31, Claggett, Sykes & Garza will join Mental Health Connecticut for No Hair Left Behind, a free community resource fair helping local families prepare for the new school year.

Now in its fifth year, No Hair Left Behind was created by local Hartford barbers and has grown into a day of free haircuts, health and wellness services, community resources, activities and more!

Together with Mental Health Connecticut, we’ll be providing school supplies to help local students get ready for the year ahead.

We’re grateful to continue our partnership with Mental Health Connecticut. Partnerships like this give us the opportunity to get involved and support our neighbors in meaningful ways.

As we close out our first Heartbeats for Hope, we want to recognize the incredible sponsors who believed in this weekend and, most importantly, the reason behind it.

Heartbeats for Hope began with something deeply personal. Years ago, the Garza’s were the family who needed Dr. Quintero and the extraordinary care that ultimately saved their daughters’ lives.

Just one week ago today, we closed out our inaugural Heartbeats for Hope Weekend with An Evening with Zac Clark & Friends. 🎶

What started with a deeply personal story became a room full of people gathered for the same reason: to help give more families access to the life-saving fetal care that changed Andrew and Jennifer Garza’s family forever.

Zac Clark filled the night with music, but what made the evening so special was everyone who filled the room. Friends, family, sponsors, colleagues, and members of our community showed up with open hearts and made our first Heartbeats for Hope a weekend we will never forget.

To everyone who joined us, supported us, and believed in what we set out to do, THANK YOU!

We can’t believe it’s already been one week since our inaugural Heartbeats for Hope Weekend! ⛳️

We kicked things off with The Quintero Classic, named in honor of Dr. Ruben Quintero, the doctor who saved Andrew and Jennifer Garza’s daughters and ultimately inspired the weekend that brought us all together.

From the first tee shot to the final putt, it was an incredible day of golf and a community showing up for a cause that means so much to us.
