There are some moments in this work that mean a little more. This family recently stopped by our office to receive their settlement check and spend a few minutes with Bob Giroux and our team. Friday we celebrated at Bigalora with our amazing Giroux Pappas Law Team. Two big events! Our legal assistant Mimi celebrated a big birthday and our Medical Malpractice Team knocked it out of the park in court! They secured at $4.4 Million verdict for our clients who lost their loved one.

It was a great week to be part of such a wonderful group of people that all care about one another.

JUSTICE SERVED: $4.4 MILLION MEDICAL MALPRACTICE VERDICT

After a patient died from a blood clot just days after knee replacement surgery, our trial team went to court seeking accountability for the patient's family.

Following the presentation of the evidence and hearing from medical experts, the jury deliberated for just a few hours before returning a $4.4 million verdict for our client's family. We are pleased that this family received a measure of justice and accountability after such a devastating loss.
Thank you to the jurors of Oakland County for giving their time, listening carefully to the evidence and fulfilling such an important civic responsibility.

And congratulations to our trial team of Evan Pappas, Melanie Duda and Sage Caperton for the tremendous preparation and teamwork that went into bringing this case to trial.

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR SEPTEMBER EXCEPTIONAL EDUCATOR, PAIGE SULLIVAN OF CLAWSON HIGH SCHOOL!
Ms. Sullivan was nominated for the way she goes above and beyond to make her students feel appreciated, heard and inspired. Her enthusiasm for literature helps even reluctant readers discover books that speak to their own experiences. She has even used her own money to add books to her classroom library so students have more opportunities to find something they’ll love.

But her impact reaches far beyond the books on the shelves. Students know Ms. Sullivan’s classroom is a place where they can stay after school, share what’s happening in their lives and know someone is there to listen.

Michigan’s new education budget includes a $250 per-pupil increase, expanded support for at-risk students and English learners, and hundreds of millions for literacy initiatives backed by the governor.

Every flashing light on the side of the road tells a story. A traffic stop. A disabled vehicle. A crash. A road crew. Someone helping another person get home safely.

It also means someone is standing just feet away from passing traffic.

Michigan's Move Over Law isn't just a rule—it's a responsibility. If you see emergency vehicles, tow trucks, road crews, or other authorized vehicles with flashing lights, move over if you can. If you can't, slow down to at least 10 mph below the posted speed limit and proceed with caution.

On July 20, law enforcement agencies across Michigan will be placing extra emphasis on enforcing the Move Over Law—but protecting lives shouldn't happen only on enforcement days.

A few seconds of caution can prevent a lifetime of consequences.

Slow down. Move over. Save a life.
