Went to the office this morning to turn on the Christmas music on the outdoor speakers for the 24th year. The older crowd will remember there was a time when the Falmouth Lions Club had a booth on Shelby Street every Christmas season. They collected donations and played Christmas music for the shoppers. Along with Best and Associates we moved into our offices on Shelby Street right before the flood of 1997. That fall Rob was talking about how he missed the Lions Club’s music. That set in motion a plan to run speakers outside to play Christmas music. Over the years I wore out two 20 disk CD changers before the days of WiFi, Bluetooth and satellite radio. It is our hope that a little Christmas music might bring a little cheer into your day.

Yesterday, March 30, 2020, the governor signed Senate Bill 150 that will allow witnesses and notaries to sign documents in multiple parts as long as all parties "can communicate via a video teleconference in real time to the same extent as if they were physically present in the same location." This will allow attorneys to conduct Will, deed and other document signings remotely. As emergency legislation this took effect immediately upon signing by the governor. The Bill enacts a number of provisions that affect medical, food services and any number of other businesses. I hope to take advantage of this as several clients have called wanting Wills and deeds.

Due to the governor’s latest executive order I will not be conducting any appointments in the office. Whenever it is possible I will consult by telephone or email. I haven't posted on this page forever. Just wanted to let people know that contrary to rumors, I have not retired from the practice of law. I have had several folks tell me they thought I had retired. I'm still here but have slowed down a bit. It's always a good idea to call for an appointment before stopping by. Looking forward to serving Pendleton and surrounding counties.
