📸 Your storm supplies are ready. But is your camera roll?

You’ve done the shopping, gotten your fuel and supplies, put up your storm shutters, and cleaned up the yard. You’re ready.
Here’s one more thing to do while conditions are still safe: take photos and videos of your home and belongings.

Walk through each room with your phone. Open closets, cabinets, and drawers. Capture furniture, electronics, appliances, tools, and other valuables.

Remember the spaces beyond your living room:
✅ Your home’s exterior
✅ Storage spaces and sheds
✅ Shops and barns
✅ Garages and everything inside

Record closeups of model and serial numbers when possible. Narrate your video to identify items and details you might forget later.

Hopefully, you’ll never need those pictures. But if you do, having a record of what you own and its condition before the storm can make documenting losses easier.

Only do this while it’s safe. If you’ve been told to evacuate, getting to safety comes first.

Take care of your home, take care of yourself, and look out for one another. ❤️

As you prepare for Hurricane Isaias, here’s a good plumbing reminder: locate your home’s main water shutoff valve and make sure you can safely reach it. Knowing where it is can help limit damage if a pipe breaks.

After the storm, avoid standing water and wait until conditions are safe before checking for damage.

Sanitation Update | Friday, October 9

As the city prepares for Hurricane Isaias, please note the following changes to sanitation services:

Garbage: Regular pickup will run as scheduled Friday morning.

Recycling: No recycling pickup on Friday.

Trash: Crews will continue collection Friday morning, working to reach as many residents as possible before service ends at 11 a.m. We strongly advise residents NOT to place any materials at the curb, including bulk items, lawn debris or limbs. These items could become dangerous debris during the storm and cause additional damage.

Landfill & Trash Drop-Off Center: Closed all day Friday as crews prepare for the storm and secure materials on-site.

Thank you for helping keep Fairhope safe as we prepare for the storm!

🌀 Before Isaias arrives, we're asking customers to take a couple of precautions to help prevent damage and water loss during the storm.

💧 Have water service at a pier or dock? Please turn off the water ahead of the storm in case pipes or fixtures are damaged.

💧 Have an irrigation system? Please make sure it is shut off and unplug your irrigation equipment before the storm arrives.
