A Premarital Agreement can be amended at a later date with mutual consent. If you wish to modify or terminate a Premarital Agreement, both spouses will need to enter into a new agreement with updated terms. Agreements made after marriage are called postnuptial agreements.

Many clients ask us this question, which is difficult to answer. We strongly disagree with a “scorched earth” approach to family law litigation, firmly believing that no family is served by an expensive and bruising court battle. However, there are times when one spouse (or the opposing counsel) decides to be unreasonable or takes unreasonable positions, or when the opposing party is posing a serious threat to a client’s health or financial stability. On December 12, 2024, Nathan Olson attended the annual Arlington County Bar Association Holiday Party. The event was held at the Lyon Park Community Center and was attended by local attorneys and judges. The highlight of the event was the presentation of the “Person with the Mostest” award that goes to a deserving member of the Bar who went above and beyond in the past year. The Honorable Judith L. Wheat, who is the current Chief Judge of the Arlington County Circuit Court, received the 2024 honors. Congratulations, Judge Wheat!

On Wednesday evening, several CGG employees attended the FBA Paralegal Section Holiday Party at PJ SKIDOOS. It was a very fun event, organized by the Section’s co-activities coordinators (and CGG paralegals) Jennifer Horn and Jamie Montoney. There was an ugly sweater contest, a (very difficult) holiday word scramble, and a white elephant gift exchange with 28 presents!

It was a great connecting with paralegals in a more relaxed setting, seeing old friends (like former CGG employee – Hasti Esmaeili), and meeting new colleagues.
