It’s been a minute or 100 since we have updated. We have sent off our beloved associate Won Uh to Korea and have added many more.

Today perhaps fittingly on April Fools is Founders’ Day. 8 years ago we hung up this shingle.
We took part of our Team for a little celebratory hometown Woody’s ice cream, while wearing our Founder’s Dude tattoos ❤️
In the midst of good news and bad news for so many today, we give thanks for this anniversary as we carry on doing the people’s work.
Today is clear and bright but brisk! Can’t wait until it is a sweltering Rock the Block night and going to Woody's Ice Cream Shop is a regular thing 😍

A lot of changes underfoot at the Chap Petersen PLLC! We wish our Associate Ibnul Khan Godspeed as he heads to new adventures. He’s excelled on our proving grounds and we have no doubt to expect the same elsewhere on the global stage.

Big day for CP&A firm today. Our crack associate team, David Amos and Ibnul Khan, tried a case in Fairfax County Circuit Court (Judge Dontae Bugg presiding). The case involved ownership and management of a shopping center in western China. Our clients are Uighur refugees who have started a new business in the USA, and we defended them against allegations that they misappropriated funds from overseas. The 2-day trial was conducted almost entirely in Uighur -- and our client was victorious. Very proud of my team, who do a great job representing clients, large and small.

In 2015, my client's house was searched by the police and property seized. When no charges were brought for two years, we demanded the return. That led to prosecutors issuing a 4 count indictment for international fraud. My client was facing potentially 80 years in prison. We took the case to trial and it lasted a week. The prosecutors threw everything at us, even flying over witnesses from the ROK. Tonight, after two days of deliberation, the jury entered a verdict of "Not Guilty." Sometimes the little guy wins.
