This article is a little misleading. While Commonwealth's Attorney Descano's office is not prosecuting the vast majority of misdemeanors, including petit larceny (theft of less than $1000), assault, and reckless driving, these cases are still being prosecuted by the officers who charged these crimes.

Don't be fooled into thinking that you can commit these charges in Fairfax County and not get caught.
